I use a Dammar/wax varnish on the surface of my paintings, unless otherwise stated. I love the uneven textures that it brings to the acrylic and charcoal when it is polished. As there is wax in the finish I would advise that the painting is not placed over a direct form of heat ie: lighting candle, fire place or very strong, direct sunlight, as this may over time affect the surface of the painting. Unless otherwise stated, my work is unframed. I use two forms of board/panels, firstly solid wood panels which are 4cm deep and hang beautifully on two nails.
