Do the paintings need any special care?
I use a Dammar/wax varnish on the surface of my paintings, unless otherwise stated. I love the uneven textures that it brings to the acrylic and charcoal when it is polished. As there is wax in the finish I would advise that the painting is not placed over a direct form of heat ie: lighting candle, fire place or very strong, direct sunlight, as this may over time affect the surface of the painting. Otherwise the finish is very robust and if you so wish it is possible to maintain a glossy shine to the painting by every now and again gently polishing the surface of the painting with a dry, lint free cloth.
Do you frame your work?
Unless otherwise stated, my work is unframed.
I use two forms of board/panels, firstly solid wood panels which are 4cm deep and hang beautifully on two nails. Of course these panels frame perfectly but I choose to leave that at the discretion of the buyer.
For smaller work I mainly paint on board, I am very happy to give advice on framing if requested.
Do you have a refund policy?
or what happens if my painting arrives and I don’t like it?
Of course I want you to be completely happy with your new artwork, every care has been taken to show the artwork as accurately as possible although sometimes the image online may be different due to slight variations between screens, devices etc. so here’s what I suggest: If a painting is not as you had expected, contact me straight away by email and let’s chat. Once a return has been agreed, you are responsible for packing and arranging delivery safely back to me. On it’s safe return I will arrange a full refund within 14 days.
CUSTOMER NOTICE: Overseas shipments may be subject to import duties and taxes. Any additional charges are the responsibility of the purchaser.
Purchasing with a deposit
If you would like to purchase an artwork that’s over €500, I am happy to take payment in stages. A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to hold your painting and the balance repayments can be worked out between us. This is not a credit scheme, but is arranged on trust at no extra cost to you.
